Every seen any Ubuntu Advertisement, Check these out

One of the things that I like about Ubuntu is its amazing community, its full of enthusiastic and talented people who are always ready to give their share to the community by - helping others, always trying to improve and promote Ubuntu. Take the example of this 17 years old boy in Israel, Arthur, a creative mind, with the right spirit. This article is dedicated to the brilliant Ubuntu Advertisements he made. You have got to see them.

Lets begin with my favourite and this is my view, but I think Canonical should really consider using this officially .

Ubuntu Ad - What Operating System

Ubuntu Ad - Got tired of that ?

Ubuntu Ad - Your Desktop

Ubuntu Ad - Customization

Ubuntu Ad - System is Booting

I hope you all enjoyed these videos, don't forget to applaud Arthur for such a nice job, keep them coming pal. You can find his work here.

Yes these are very professional! I agree these should be considered by Canonical as official advertisements. They should consider hiring him as a marketing consultant, he certainly has what it takes!

No he does not. Nice work, but this is for peopel who know tehre are other OSes. I know people who use FF and know OS exists but they know Wina nd Mac. This is not understandable for many many people.

Nice try, but only one really showcases the operating system. The rest just mention it. Most of these ads are more slanderous than anything. Advertisements should show the merit of the product it's advertising, especially when the ad is marketed to people who presumably know absolutely NOTHING about its existence

Very good advertisements. My critiques: The bad 1. It shows too much of the competition and not enough of ubuntu. 2. It is strictly visual advertisement as somebody not physically watching the tv/ad will not hear the same message. The good 1. Some obscurity makes people thinking about the product. Over time this sort of advertising has a good impact. 2. Simplicity of the advertisements is visually appealing. 3. Any pro-linux advertisement is a good thing!!

These do look like advertisements but what are they suppose to do exactly? Let's pretend none of us use or have ever heard of Ubuntu. We see this add on the internet or TV. Which one, and let's be honest about this, will make us suddenly switch from our comfort zone, be it Windows or Mac, and suddenly install Ubuntu? Which one actually tells us non-Ubuntu using people whose only use of a PC is to read emai, surf the web, book a holiday etc., what Ubuntu is, and more importantly, WHY it is? Unless the advert tells the general user exactly how their computing life, no matter how small it may be, will be better, then the advert has failed and no one will be in the slightest bit interested. That means we cannot use the words Open-Source as most people won't understand or be bothered (doesn't windows come with a browser and email client). We have to "sell" ubuntu whilst explaining Ubuntu. None of these would make it past first base in the pro marketing world.
