Brainstorm: Easier access to Wine for Installation of .exe files

We all once had this stage in life when we tried to install .exe files on Linux thinking that it would work, at least I did. I didn't know about wine then and I am pretty sure neither do new users these days. So, a brainstorm user klau3 proposed an idea to inform the user about wine when he double clicks on the .exe file trying to install it.

I know that open-source linux alternatives for most of the windows applications exist but there is nothing wrong in informing the new user about wine. Actually I believe, it will be a good way to show him the power of community and open-source development . Anyways, this is the mockup proposed by klau3 of the info window or infobox when a newbie double clicks the .exe file.

Nice idea, here's some suggestions: Not all .exe files are installers, so that should read "Install Wine". The file should be run automatically after install. There needs to be a cancel button. The whole point of this is so you don't have to go to the software center or know what to do there, so remove the green stuff and the "Open Software Center" button. Remove mentions of Ubuntu and just say Linux (so we can use this on other distros.) Would be cool to phrase the wording about security/antivirus software so it is clear that Linux is secure without it.

I think that this is a bad idea! I really don't think that people in the linux community should be pushing wine, they should be pushing the alternative to what ever windoz product they are trying to run. Some will say "well, game xyz does not have a native linux version", and I would say STOP BUYING THEIR PRODUCTS! Once this becomes common place and their revinue starts dropping they will start supporting linux, problem solved. Wine just gives those developers an excuse not to support linux, and your fuelling that non-support by pushing wine.
