Firefox 4 Beta 12 - The final member of the herd has been released

Fighthing with the roadmap and nasty bugs, the 12th beta of Firefox 4 is finally available now. Probably this is the last one of the long beta streak. Over this period, beginning right from the first beta, developers have fixed nearly 7000 bugs. With Firefox4 getting into its final shape, this release brings overall stability and performance improvements to the browser in addition to some usability changes.

Next release of Firefox - beta 9, will have tabs on Title Bar

Well, the time has come. For the first time probably, we can see firefox with tabs on the title bar. This is not available in the current beta 8 release but this feature will most probably be added and supported in the upcoming 9th beta.

This "tabs on title bar" feature is only supported on windows systems as of now and that too when its maximized. Here is a screenshot of how it would look like.

Firefox 4 goes for Incontent UI, Bye-Bye to Dialog Boxes

So, the changes in the next generation browser, Firefox 4, have already started taking place. Currently, the top priority of the developers is to show all the secondary UI as inline content i.e. no more dialog boxes. Mozilla designer Stephen Horlander posted some mockups on his blog.

Mike Beltzner, Mozilla's Director of Firefox, shared the organization's plan about the next big thing, Firefox 4, in a presentation last week. As it seems, Firefox 4 aims to be faster, in both looks and performance, sleek and light interface, various improvements to enhance the user experience.
